No that’s perfectly understandable =3 Wow. I didn’t realize it was an issue and I’ll remove the tags right now. Do you maybe have an idea of what I should tag the picture as?
PS: Never mind, I found it =p I didn’t realize Jelsa was the couple name (Gosh I’m dense sometimes).
So as many of you know I am studying to become a paramedic. I don’t know how it works in other countries but in South Africa we have varying ‘degrees’ of paramedic. starting with the lowest ranked we have Basic Ambulance Assistant (BLS), Ambulance Emergency Assistant (ILS), Critical Care Assistant (CCA or ALS), Emergency Care Technician (ECT) or Bachelor Degree in Emergency Medical Care (BTech). Now I am a second year student in BTech and the other weekend I was working with a BLS/ILS crew who spent the entire time belittling my degree and telling me how arrogant/stuck up the BTech’s are and how all our studying is useless against all the experience the lesser degrees have on the road. I mean, what? Firstly that’s rich coming from a person who’s most significant procedure they can do it putting up an IV. Secondly there’s a reason we studying for almost three years longer than all the other courses, so we can actually administer life saving drugs and perform more life saving interventions like RSI or pacing. Now don’t get me wrong, I know experiences counts for a lot in the EMS but at the end of the day would you rather have a person who studied for three months working on you or a loved one or someone who has studied for four years?
That is all…
